To deliver information and advice about Darlington College's courses and provision to young people within schools and the general public in the wider community. To assist the Marketing and Engagement Team to maintain and expand feeder schools and wider community links to achieve growth and achievement of recruitment targets. To liaise with stakeholders both in school and the wider community to promote Darlington College, FT study and placement opportunities as part of study programmes and T‑Levels.

Principal Accountabilities

  • To co‑ordinate day to day links with partner schools and community groups and promote the college through active involvement in:
  • The delivery of interactive presentations to school and community groups on a regular basis to achieve target growth.
  • Co‑ordinate and have a presence at school and community events, including school open events, parents' evenings, careers events and career in action days as well as support employer network events as appropriate.
  • Liaise with appropriate schools' teaching and community workers to expand the range of activities on offer to ensure they are relevant, interesting, stimulating and fit for purpose.
  • The co‑ordination and delivery of school assemblies and application form clinics.
  • To support young people with the application and enrolment process.
  • To maintain and build networks of communication with external agencies to promote the college in its entirety.
  • Bring forward new ideas for Open and Taster Days, the College Website, marketing materials and methods of communicating with schools and the wider community.
  • Develop close working links with Curriculum Managers to ensure knowledge of curriculum offer is up to date and communication is consistent.
  • To co‑coordinate and deliver relevant talks, tours, and marketing events to further develop relationships and communications regarding the marketing and promotion of College programmes, including employer links to schools and community venues.
  • The collection of school student data for use in direct marketing.
  • Participate in all college internal and external promotional events including Open Events, Connecting to College and Enrolment Events, Application Form Clinics and Business Ambassador Events.
  • To co‑ordinate the Schools Taster Programme and other visits with partner schools and College curriculum areas by a variety of year groups.
  • To distribute college publications, posters, and other marketing materials to schools and school pupils and promote online marketing activities and information.
  • Update Colleges CRM system with engagement from stakeholders.
  • Support Engagement Coaches (placements) where necessary with supporting students in placement.
  • Contribute to the collection of informal and formal feedback from students and employers.
  • To co‑ordinate with appropriate College staff in connection with all aspects of schools liaison activity and events.
  • To work evenings as required and occasional weekends.
  • To comply with all relevant policies and procedures.
  • To undertake other duties commensurate with the grade of the post as required.
  • Engage in professional development including the conduct of and participation in staff appraisal and in‑service training based on an assessment of individual needs.
  • Contribute to the mentoring system for new staff and colleagues as appropriate.
  • Perform such other reasonable duties commensurate with the grade of the post as required by the Principal and Chief Executive.
  • At all times deliver a professional approach in all aspect of work, treating all staff, students and the wider college community with respect.
