The predicted salary is between 21000 - 28000 £ per year.

Provide a positive, stimulating environment and atmosphere that makes the children, parents/carers, childcare team and students feel happy, safe, comfortable and valued. To have an awareness of the holistic needs of all children, supporting appropriate stimulating experiences to encourage independence and child initiated learning to take place whilst working within statutory and regulatory requirements.

Principle Accountabilities:

  • Overall responsibility for the day to day running of a nursery room;
  • Be the Named Person for the Childcare Centre when necessary, ensuring statutory requirements are met;
  • As a Key Person, ensure yours and your teams learning journeys / Famly app observations are kept up to date and communicated with parents;
  • Provide professional support to parents/carers and other staff in conjunction with the Childcare Centre Manager;
  • Oversee the planning and ensure you and the room team are implementing and evaluating activities that provide an effective and stimulating learning environment working towards the Early Years Foundation Stage;
  • Ensure the childcare room you are overseeing is meeting OFSTED's requirements;
  • Ensure policies and procedures of the Childcare Centre and College are adhered to at all times;
  • Undertake daily domestic duties as required, e.g., cleansing of equipment, toys, laundry, observing health and safety guidelines;
  • Supervise meal times and prepare simple snacks as required;
  • Ensure physical wellbeing of children by meeting individual care needs, e.g., nappy changing, toilet training, administer prescribed medication;
  • Undertake any other duties as required by management, commensurate with the grade of the post.

In addition, it is recognised that the post-holder should:

  • Maintain confidentiality at all times;
  • Promote equal opportunities and Inclusive Learning throughout the Childcare Service;
  • Participate in Parent/Carers meetings;
  • Assist with the implement of the Childcare Centre Aims and Objectives;
  • Assist in the implementation/review of Childcare Centre policies;
  • Comply with all College policies and procedures including Safeguarding, Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities policies;
  • At all times deliver a professional approach in all aspect of work, treating all staff, students and the wider college community with respect.

Job Type: Full-time
