Casual Student Finance Assistant – 37hpw (temporary until 31 October 2025)
This role involves undertaking all administrative duties associated with student bursaries.
2. Principal Accountabilities
- Process applications, assess eligibility, make payments, and maintain records of student payments from various bursary funds including the 16 – 19 Bursary Fund, Vulnerable Bursary, 19+ Learner Support Fund, and the Advanced Learner Loan Bursary.
- Stay up-to-date with government guidance, policies, and procedures related to student finance schemes.
- Provide effective administrative support for all student finance schemes available through the college, ensuring students receive timely and appropriate financial support.
- Inform students, prospective students, parents, and staff about the financial support available through college and national schemes such as Care to Learn, 24+ Advanced Learning Loans Bursary, and Vulnerable Bursary.
- Support student finance applications for financial support, issue travel passes, discuss childcare support, and handle individual student inquiries regarding payments or awards.
- Serve as an important point of contact for students, often dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
- Assist the Student Support Team in providing urgent financial support to students.
- Develop and maintain systems for filing and storing relevant documentation and paperwork.
- Collaborate with curriculum staff regarding kits, equipment, attendance, and support related to financial schemes.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures.
- Perform any other duties appropriate to the grade of the post.
