Due to an internal promotion, we have a fantastic opportunity for someone new to step into an Underwriter role within our award-winning Underwriting Team.

Consulting our lending policy while working with the broker to ensure we have considered every option before making a decision as part of our manual underwriting process, allows us to be a specialist lender.

In this role you will play an important part in that process

As an Underwriter, you will

  • Assess and make decisions on complex mortgage applications within your mandate.
  • Take a quality-driven approach, managing your workload to meet deadlines while ensuring the best outcomes for our members and the Society.
  • Use investigative skills and diverse ways of thinking to find the right solutions for complex cases.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support a seamless mortgage application journey.
  • Become an advocate of our lending policy, continuously looking for ways to improve our processes.

We are looking for someone who

  • Is passionate about delivering the right outcome for our members.
  • Has a keen eye for detail.
  • Works well within a team but can also take initiative.
  • Possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Enjoys finding creative solutions to problems.
  • Has previous underwriting experience within the Mortgage sector (min 1 year)
