Responsibilities
The highways team are looking to recruit 3 trainee highways operatives on a 2‑year fixed‑term contract to help maintain streets and footpaths of Darlington.
Work will involve learning all aspects of highway works including paving, kerbing, tarmac, concrete and drainage on maintenance and major scheme works.
Qualifications
No previous knowledge is required as full training will be provided. You must be committed to working towards and obtaining an NVQ Level 2 in Highways Construction.
Compensation
The Trainee Highways Operative is paid on the Craft 2 Trainee Rate. The rate you will be paid is dependent on your age upon commencement in post and will increase with each year of study. Current rates of pay are as follows.
