This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the Council's Surveying and Purchasing team within the Highways section.
The purpose of the Surveying and Purchasing Officer role is to provide general purchasing, contract monitoring and surveying support including;
- Responsible for the accurate gathering of prices or quotations for goods and services, timely order processing for capital works and maintenance projects and internal purchasing requests in line with European procurement rules and Council procedures.
- To maintain the Authority’s ordering of goods and services by creating orders and monitoring receipts.
- Dealing with enquiries from suppliers, contractors and internal customers.
- Checking and processing of invoices, dealing with suppliers/contractors on invoice queries.You should have approximately 3 years’ experience of working in procurement/quantity surveying in a large, multi-functional organisation in the public or private sector.
You should have a sound knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and a high level of computer literacy as well as effective communication skills.
