Darlington Borough Council is seeking to appoint a skilled and motivated individual to join our Refuse and Recycling Service in a key operational role.
All applicants must hold a valid LGV license. This post is restricted to internal applicants only.
Responsibilities- Day‑to‑day operational management of refuse, recycling, garden waste, bulky waste, and trade waste services, ensuring all activities are delivered on schedule and in line with Council policies, procedures and service standards.
- Lead and motivate a team of staff, fostering a positive working environment focused on achieving service goals and maintaining a high standard of customer service.
- Work with the Waste & Transport Services Manager to ensure service delivery meets contractual objectives.
- Maintain flexibility, working Mondays or weekends as required to meet service needs.
- 32 days Annual Leave, plus Bank Holidays, with option to purchase additional Annual Leave (pro‑rata for part‑time working)
