Darlington is a Council with huge ambitions. We’re looking for an enthusiastic economic development professional to drive our approach to business development, investment, and place promotion. This is a high impact role at the heart of shaping Darlington’s future prosperity and growth.
As a key officer for economic growth, you will support local businesses to grow, innovate, and thrive, and attract new private sector investment, championing Darlington to national and global audiences. The role will also ensure that the area’s economic infrastructure is strengthened and future ready, enabling businesses to grow, investors to succeed, and residents to access high quality employment opportunities while ensuring that skills provision aligns with local employer needs.
Working closely with the Executive Director, you will work across the Council, with businesses, and key economic stakeholders to maximise economic and social benefits. We are looking for a proactive professional with a strong track record in economic development and regeneration. You will be comfortable working in a flexible and agile environment, ready to help us tackle the challenges and opportunities facing the Borough. You will also be an effective collaborator with a strong commitment to teamwork, partnership working and building positive working relationships both within the Council and beyond.
