Deputy Head Teacher - Hurworth Primary School (Lingfield Education Trust)

Overview

Hurworth Primary School is seeking an experienced primary leader to join our team as Deputy Head Teacher. This full-time post is paid on Scale L6 – L10 (currently 58,569 – 64,691). The role starts from 1 January 2026. The post includes some class responsibility and will be based at Hurworth Primary School, with potential to work across Lingfield Education Trust as part of career progression.

Responsibilities

• Be a kind leader and work effectively as part of the senior leadership team.
• Forensically monitor data to ensure all pupils achieve.
• Lead by example with integrity and honesty; drive continuous improvement in the school.
• Lead by example to promote outstanding teaching and learning.
• Contribute to shaping the school’s vision and future direction.
• Support curriculum leadership and school-wide improvements, including English leadership where applicable.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Experience of successful curriculum leadership in English, including monitoring, evaluating and target setting.
• A clear vision for raising standards through coaching and mentoring.
• Commitment to ensuring achievement for all through equal access, opportunity and aspiration for all children.
• Ability to work across the senior leadership team and foster strong relationships with staff, pupils, parents and the wider community.

What we offer

• Salary on L6–L10 (£58,569 – £64,691).
