Red Hall Primary School, Headingley Crescent, Darlington, Co Durham, DL1 2ST
Salary: Salary band 4 (SCP 6) – £23,894 FTE, pro rata £19,372.70 per annum.
Hours: 30 hours per week (including school holidays) with split‑shift options: 6:00‑9:00 and 15:00‑18:00 or 11:30‑18:00 (including a half‑hour break). Flexibility may be required to meet the needs of the school.
Red Hall Primary wishes to appoint a suitably skilled and experienced, enthusiastic, caring and motivated caretaker to work under the direction of the School Office Manager and Headteacher.
Responsibilities- Daily, weekly and monthly statutory checks (fire alarm, legionella, emergency lighting etc.)
- Painting, decoration, plumbing and minor repairs
- Other maintenance tasks including cleaning of the school and upkeep of the grounds
- Assist a team of cleaning staff, covering in times of absence when required
- Maintain high standards across premises and grounds
- Experience of maintenance and repairs/handyperson duties (indoors and outdoors)
- Experience of cleaning duties
- Reliability, proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team
- Commitment to keeping the school community safe and ability to prioritise tasks appropriately
- Positive engagement and ability to build appropriate professional relationships
