Overview

Mileage and expenses to be paid by the family when on days out in the community.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Person centred support with daily activities
  • Assisting with personal care, showering, dressing, and general care
  • Lots of play time including water play activities and other messy play sensory activities
  • Helping D relax at home and unwind
  • Prompting and supporting eating with cutlery

Applicants must be:

  • Female only, in accordance with Schedule 9, Part 1 of the Equality Act 2010
  • Physically able to match D's pace
  • Flexible
  • Friendly

  • Able to work well under pressure
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Personable
  • Willing to learn and be trained on how best to support and work effectively with D and in her family home

Desirable Criteria

  • An experienced driver with a full clean driving licence
  • Have an understanding and experience of working with individuals with autism
  • Have an understanding and experience of working with individuals with a learning disability
  • Previous training in de-escalation

All successful applicants will undergo references and an enhanced criminal records bureau check.

Hours

There are no hours specified as this is a flexible role and would depend on what hours you would be able to offer. This can be further discussed at screening/interview stage. Examples of the hours would be:

  • Before and after School
  • Weekends
  • Overnights
  • Additional hours in the school holidays
  • Holiday cover

Wage: £12.21 per hour
