A 52-year-old autistic gentleman with fluctuating mobility issues, ADHD and seizures in the Marske area of Redcar and Cleveland is looking for the right person with patience and understanding to support him. This gentleman has become isolated and is wanting support to find himself again.
Hours and pay
- Hours of support: 15 hours per week in 3 hour slots over a 5 day period, Monday to Friday. There can be some flexibility to times of support; this will be discussed at interview.
- Rate of pay: £12.21 per hour
Support
- Domestic support to keep his home clean and tidy
- Support to access the community; he is looking forward to having this opportunity and going shopping
- At times he may need support to put on socks and shoes as bending can be difficult and painful
- There will be support around meal preparation; although he can cook himself, support is needed to keep him on track with tasks

- You must be understanding and patient, able to give him time to explain himself.
- Be a good listener and pragmatic.
- An understanding of autism may be of benefit but is not essential.
- Access to a vehicle and car driver is desirable but not essential, as this gentleman can use public transport with reassurance and support.
