The Senior Project Manager, Professional Services is responsible for leading complex projects from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives and stakeholder expectations. This role requires expertise in project governance, lifecycle execution, risk management, and cross-functional collaboration. The Senior Project Manager will drive operational excellence through strategic planning, proactive issue resolution, and continuous process improvement, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and on budget.

What will I be doing:

  • Develop and manage detailed project delivery schedules, integrating cross-functional dependencies, financial planning, and resource allocation.
  • Guide projects through all lifecycle stages, ensuring compliance with gate requirements and stakeholder approvals.
  • Implement PMI/CCPM best practices across scope, time, quality, risk, communication, and procurement management.
  • Oversee project communications, proactively identifying potential impacts and providing regular updates through dashboards and reports.
  • Define and track project success metrics, evaluating progress and making data-driven adjustments.
  • Foster a high-performance environment by energising and motivating teams, promoting collaboration, and maintaining positive engagement.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, developing contingency plans to ensure smooth execution.
  • Govern project scope by defining acceptance criteria, prioritising stakeholder requirements, and managing scope boundaries.
  • Manage project costs, including budget estimation, allocation, expense tracking, and financial reporting.
  • Lead stakeholder management efforts, securing buy-in, maintaining relationships, and ensuring alignment with business goals.
  • Drive continuous improvement by re-engineering processes, enhancing productivity, and optimising resource utilisation.
  • Implement change management strategies, assessing project impacts and building organisational support for transitions.
  • Contribute to the professional project management community by sharing best practices, lessons learned, and industry insights.
  • Develop and implement best practices for project execution, benchmarking, and training programs to enhance organisational project management capabilities.

What experience do I need:

  • 5-10 years of hands-on project management experience, preferably within professional services or a high-tech environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, project management, engineering, or a related field; an MBA is a plus.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certifications required (e.g., PMI-PMP, CCPM, ITIL, CSM, Prince2).
  • Strong experience in leading cross-functional teams, managing stakeholder relationships, and driving business-critical initiatives.
  • Expertise in project governance, risk management, and financial planning.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to enhance project management capabilities through continuous improvement initiatives and best practice development.
