Job Description:
In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring our cloud infrastructure is robust, scalable, and optimized for performance, while collaborating closely with development teams to deliver secure and efficient solutions.
What will I be doing:
- Supporting the deployment and scaling of our global cloud applications.
- Container orchestration, particularly with Kubernetes and other cloud-native tools.
- Advising development teams on optimizing the use of public cloud resources and supporting new applications as they transition to production.
- Collaborating closely with development teams to ensure the infrastructure meets their requirements while promoting scalable application practices.
- Utilizing your expertise in container orchestration tools to facilitate the seamless deployment of applications, prioritizing reliability, observability, and performance.
- Staying current with the latest technologies, introducing innovative solutions to the team, and addressing operational challenges through strategic automation and optimization efforts.
What experience do I need:
- Essential skills in scripting or application development, with proficiency in Python.
- Familiarity with infrastructure provisioning tools like Terraform and CloudFormation, along with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
- A strong understanding of basic networking and security principles.
- The ability to methodically solve problems and analyse patterns in behaviour and logs.
- Experience with continuous integration systems such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, and Jenkins is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in working with source control is also a must.
- Strong communication skills.
