Role Overview

We are seeking a talented and driven Head Chef to lead our kitchen. This role combines hands-on cooking with leadership, menu development, and operational responsibility. You will shape the culinary direction of the restaurant while maintaining high standards of quality, efficiency, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Kitchen Leadership
    • Lead, inspire, and develop the kitchen team
    • Create a positive, professional, and inclusive working environment
    • Manage rotas, staffing levels, and team performance
  • Food & Menu Development
    • Design and deliver seasonal, innovative menus aligned with the restaurant's concept
    • Source high-quality ingredients, prioritising local and sustainable suppliers
    • Continuously refine dishes based on feedback and creativity
  • Operations & Standards
    • Ensure consistent quality, presentation, and portion control
    • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety (in line with UK regulations)
    • Oversee stock control, ordering, and waste management

    • Work closely with front-of-house to ensure smooth service
    • Maintain calm, organised kitchen operations during busy periods
    • Be present and hands-on during service

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a similar environment
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Passion for seasonal, ingredient-led cooking
  • Solid understanding of kitchen financials (GP, cost control, margins)
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Food Hygiene Level 3
