Due to the ongoing success of our Fire & Security Department and a positive forward order book, we currently have a vacancy for a Junior Fire & Security Design Engineer to join our in‑house team.

OVERVIEW

We are looking for a motivated Junior Fire & Security Design Engineer with a strong interest in design to join our growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who is looking to develop their technical skills and gain hands‑on experience designing fire and security systems across a variety of projects. You’ll work closely with senior engineers and project teams, assisting in the design and specification of compliant, cost‑effective & innovative fire and security solutions while learning industry standards and best practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the design of fire alarm, CCTV, access control, and intrusion systems
  • Produce system drawings, layouts, and documentation
  • Support senior engineers with project design reviews and technical submissions
  • Ensure designs meet relevant British Standards and regulatory requirements
  • Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and clients as required
  • Maintain accurate project records and technical documentation

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Attention to detail
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Willingness and capability to learn and develop
  • A good team player
  • A basic understanding of fire and/or security systems (through education or work experience)
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD or other design software (advantageous)

  • Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach
  • Good communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude
  • A good understanding of IT & networking and a desire to integrate innovative ideas with new technologies
