Based just outside Oxford and operating in the South East and London, the Company has a healthy order book and is looking to recruit talented individuals to join its team. Due to the ongoing success of our Fire & Security Department and a positive forward order book, we currently have a vacancy for a Fire & Security Commissioning Engineer to join our in-house Team.

OVERVIEW:

As a Fire & Security Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for leading the commissioning of Fire, Aspirating, and Security Systems from first fix to completion. Working closely with project managers, you will ensure compliance with installation standards and regulations, while maintaining thorough documentation throughout the process.

PACKAGE ON OFFER:

  • The standard work hours are from 7:00 AM to 4:15 PM, Monday to Friday, however, hours may vary based on site-specific requirements and job needs, and on-call rota (£150 retainer, approx. 1 in 4 rota).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the commissioning of Fire Alarm, Aspirating, and Security Systems (CCTV, Access Control, Video Entry, and Intruder Alarms).
  • Conduct site audits prior to commissioning to assess installation quality and readiness.
  • Supervise and guide installation engineers, ensuring high standards are met.
  • Assist with 1st and 2nd fix tasks when required.
  • Ensure full compliance with relevant industry standards, regulations, and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Complete all necessary commissioning paperwork accurately and on time.
  • Provide reactive technical assistance as required, troubleshooting and resolving any system issues.
  • Promote and build a “gold standard” philosophy within the team, ensuring best practices are followed.
  • Maintain an up-to-date CPD record to ensure ongoing professional development.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with a focus on quality and compliance.
  • Formal industry or manufacturer-specific technical training.
  • FIA Qualifications or equivalent formal industry training.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Fire & Security commissioning field.
  • FESS Card (desirable) or ECS Card.
  • Must be able to work proactively on their own and as part of a team.
  • A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook software.
  • Strong fault-finding skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues.
  • Experience with networking and integrating various Fire & Security systems.
  • Proficiency with systems including, but not limited to, Texecom, Galaxy, Advanced, Kentec, Vesda, Wagner, Dahua, Paxton, and BPT.

Due to the nature of the business, successful applicants will be subject to a satisfactory DBS and enhanced security checks (BS7858).
