Location: Visiting sites across London, Oxfordshire, and the Home Counties. Office located in Long Hanborough Oxford.

Hours of Work:The standard work hours are from 7:00 AM to 4:15 PM, Monday to Friday. However, hours may vary based on site-specific requirements and job needs. This role will require a hybrid work arrangement, with time split between the office and site locations.

Job Requirements: Due to substantial growth within our company an excellent opportunity has arisen within the QAC department for a Senior Mechanical HVAC Quality Assurance & Commissioning Engineer.
Key tasks / responsibilities: –
- Promoting positive safety awareness within Darke & Taylor Ltd.
- Mentoring, developing, and training the current and future generations of less experienced members of the D&T Mechanical & Electrical Teams.
- Maintaining knowledge of the latest Regulations and Standards.
- Providing guidance and advice to our site and office management teams.
- Carrying out Quality Assurance Mechanical audits across all of Darke & Taylor Ltd projects.
- Checking on sub-contractors’ quality of installation and compliance against specification and drawings, whilst maintaining positive relationships with the Client/Main Contractor.
- Work with our Electrical colleagues to ensure that all Mechanical sub-contractors and our Electrical installations are fully coordinated throughout.
- Creating audit reports to be issued to all relevant parties and ensuring that any shortfalls or required actions are followed up and closed in a timely manner.
- Witness periodic testing of installations and above all else ensuring our installations 'will work’ and meet our Clients expectations.
- Oversee close-up/testing and commissioning on projects. Monitoring the installation process and ensuring our systems are 'commissionable’. Overseeing functional testing of all HVAC and Plumbing systems
- Manage our installation staff and sub-contractors’ installation programmes and interactions with the Client/Main Contractor.
- Continually reviewing control measures/procedures and updating where necessary.
- Being available for reactive technical assistance as required.
- Conducting and creating Pre-Purchase Audit reports, to enable the client to ascertain the current condition of the Mechanical installations on projects.
- Helping to build a D&T "gold standard" philosophy with other members of the Team.
- CPD record must be kept fully up to date.
Skills and Experience: –
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Good communication and literacy skills.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Previous site installation experience. This role would suit a Senior Mechanical Supervisor/Site-Foreman/Installation Engineer.
- Must be able to work proactively on their own and as part of a team.
- A good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook software.
- Emergency First Aid at Work, PASMA, IPAF, Mental Health First Aid, Sewells 'Working Miracles’ and Colour Profile completion. If these are not currently held, training will be provided.
Job overview:
The Senior Mechanical Quality Assurance & Commissioning Supervisor will work under the QAC Manager to ensure that all Darke & Taylor Ltd Mechanical projects are carried out to the highest standards in regards of both safety and the quality of the final installations. This will be achieved by carrying out regular scheduled Quality audits of all Darke & Taylor Ltd projects. The candidate must work closely onsite alongside Contracts Managers, Project Managers and other QAC Engineers, whilst mentoring them to ensure their learning continues and future roles are developed. Safety control and Installation Standards and procedures will be continually reviewed and updated where necessary. The Senior Mechanical QAC Engineer will have a technical knowledge of current Regulations and Standards and be a source of advice for site and office management teams. The Senior Mechanical QAC Engineer will play a key role in promoting positive Mechanical Installation & Commissioning awareness within the Company whilst assisting with the building of the D&T Mechanical "Gold Standard" philosophy.
