We have a great opportunity for an experienced careers advisor who wishes to lead a team responsible for careers services delivery in a thriving and growing school. As a school, we highly value the role of careers services which form part of our larger student support team.

Our careers lead has a guidance and small careers teaching component and takes responsibility for the overall delivery of careers services in our school, supported by admin staff and our vocational pathways lead. We are passionate about ensuring that every student is engaged in a meaningful pathway and leaves us well qualified, connected to their next stage of life.

We are looking for someone who shares this passion and can bring leadership experience, life experience and the capacity to engage the full range of rangatahi. Knowledge and contacts in our region would be a major advantage so this role would not suit overseas applicants.

As a semi-rural school close to Christchurch, at the heart of our community, our development programme is based on a strong vision. We’re in the midst of PB4L, restorative practices, curriculum reform, and cultural capability development. We have a growing roll of 820 students, years 7 - 13, most of whom are very well supported from home and well connected to their school; some need us to adapt our practice to meet their needs.

Terms and conditions of employment are covered under the Secondary Teachers Collective Agreement although we are open to a candidate, with school experience, with the right qualities who is not a registered teacher. Overseas applicants will not be considered.
