This graduate role sits within the Trading Risk & Operations team and offers the opportunity to work on key projects at the intersection of Finance, Risk, and Technology. You will support the transformation of key Finance processes by helping to automate manual workflows, improve data quality, and deliver actionable insights to stakeholders. Working closely with experienced team members, you’ll gain exposure to a fast-paced trading environment whilst developing skills in data, process improvement, and automation.
- Support the documentation and understanding of existing Finance processes, working from business requirements and priorities defined by senior team members to develop and implement technical solutions.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to improve and automate manual Finance processes.
- Implement fully automated and reliable solutions, including:
- Data ingestion, control, and maintenance
- Processing and transforming data to support reporting and analysis
- Developing and maintaining scripts, applications, databases, and automated workflows
- Participating in testing and parallel runs to ensure the accuracy and reliability of new solutions
- Monitoring and maintaining automated processes in production, ensuring data integrity and smooth operation
- Implement visualisation tools to help stakeholders gain insight from data and support decision-making.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in Risk and control processes.
- Explore and apply modern tools, including AI, to enhance efficiency and delivery speed.
- Contribute to the design of scalable and maintainable technical solutions, considering data structures, application design, automation, and user experience.
What You’ll Bring:
- A degree in Computer Science is strongly preferred, although Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related technical discipline will also be considered.
- Strong programming skills in Python (with experience using libraries such as Pandas), along with familiarity with SQL and working with databases (e.g. Snowflake).
- Experience with version control (e.g. GitHub), alongside exposure to data visualisation tools or lightweight application frameworks (e.g. Streamlit or similar), and familiarity with Excel (VBA is a plus).
- A genuine interest in building technology solutions and understanding how code, databases, automation, visualisation, and system design work together to solve business problems.
- A full-stack mindset, with enthusiasm for working across different aspects of a solution, from data and databases through to automation, applications, and visualisation.
- Solid communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across teams such as Technology and Finance.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to learn new technologies and approaches.

- An interest in, or basic understanding of, commodities markets or accounting principles.
- An interest in project-based work, including translating business requirements into practical solutions and supporting their implementation.
