DarcyBrook is thrilled to be recruiting for an experienced Materials Planner and Buyer on behalf of a prominent manufacturing business located on the beautiful Kent coast.

This fully office-based position is integral to our clients success, putting you at the heart of materials planning, coordination, and procurement. You\’ll be instrumental in supporting their production and engineering teams by ensuring They have the right materials, exactly when needed.

In this role, you will:

  • Strategic & Plan: Forecast material requirements in alignment with dynamic production schedules.

  • Procure & Expedite: Manage purchase orders efficiently to ensure the timely arrival of goods and services, actively expediting when necessary.

  • Optimise Inventory: Proactively manage inventory levels to maintain an optimal balance, preventing disruptions from shortages or excess stock.

  • Collaborate Internally: Work closely with Production and Engineering departments to seamlessly align material supply with internal project and production needs.

  • Enhance Supplier Relationships: Assist with critical supplier reviews and performance monitoring, while actively exploring and securing alternate sources for materials.

  • Maintain Data Accuracy: Take ownership of ensuring all ERP/MRP data (e.g., lead times, MOQ, safety stock) is consistently accurate and up-to-date.

  • Liaise with Partners: Build strong relationships and clear communication channels with suppliers and sub-contractors.
