Reporting to the Technical Team Lead, you’ll play a key role in shaping and operating their cloud infrastructure while supporting the end-to-end development of their technology. This is a hands-on role with plenty of scope to define their cloud architecture, influence technology choices, and champion good engineering practices across the team.
You’ll design, deploy, and optimize cloud services, while also contributing to the bigger picture, helping them build secure, scalable solutions at the cutting edge of quantum computing.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, deploy, and manage secure cloud infrastructure (GCP) using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, OpenTofu).
- Lead cloud architecture decisions, balancing innovation, security, and reliability.
- Implement monitoring, observability, and incident response practices to keep systems performant and resilient.
- Advocate and implement DevOps/DevSecOps best practices, ensuring high-quality engineering standards across the team.
- Share knowledge generously, helping colleagues level up their skills in cloud and DevOps practices.
Your background and skills
- Degree in Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong experience designing and managing cloud deployments in GCP
- Proven expertise with IaC (Terraform, GitOps) and cloud security best practices.
- Hands-on background in deploying, monitoring, and optimizing services in production environments.
- Familiarity with Agile development, CI/CD pipelines, and DevSecOps principles.
- Excellent communication skills with cultural awareness for effective global collaboration.
- Eagerness to mentor and share knowledge.
