Groundworks Supervisor – Civils Location: Milton Keynes / Luton / Surrey – UK-wide projects Permanent Salary: £50,000–£60,000 per annum Freelance Rate: £250–£300 per day (CIS or Ltd) Hours: Monday–Friday, 07:30–17:00, with occasional weekend work Travel and accommodation covered when working away. The Role DARA People is recruiting experienced Groundworks Supervisors for an established specialist contractor delivering building groundworks and civil engineering projects across the UK. Whether you're looking for a permanent position or freelance opportunities, this is a chance to take ownership of groundworks packages, lead site teams and work across varied construction projects. You'll manage smaller packages independently or support Site Managers on larger schemes. Key Responsibilities * Supervise foundations, drainage, concrete works and external works. * Lead groundworks gangs, site operatives and subcontractors. * Coordinate labour, plant, materials and daily site operations. * Monitor progress against construction programmes and deadlines. * Maintain high standards of health & safety, quality and productivity. * Oversee groundworks packages from preparation through to completion. * Work closely with Site Managers and wider construction teams. * Identify and resolve site issues to keep projects moving. Requirements * Minimum 5 years' groundworks supervisory experience. * Valid SSSTS or SMSTS qualification. * Valid CSCS card. * Full UK driving licence and own vehicle. * Strong practical knowledge of building groundworks and civils. * Experience supervising operatives, gangs and subcontractors. * Ability to manage site activities and work independently. * Willingness to travel and stay away when required. Experience in foundations, drainage, concrete slabs, enabling works, external works or modular construction is advantageous.
