We are recruiting for a Graduate Geo-Environmental Technician to join a family-run earthworks and remediation business based in Hitchin. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering or Geology who wants to build a long-term career in a hands-on, site-based role. This position would suit someone practical, motivated and keen to learn. You will travel between sites, collect and record soil sampling information, collate data, support reporting and work closely with the Director to help deliver environmental and remediation projects.

The Role

As a Graduate Geo-Environmental Technician, you will support site investigations and remediation works across multiple locations. You will be trusted to get out on site, gather accurate information, keep records organised and contribute to technical recommendations and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Travel to sites across the region to support earthworks and remediation projects
  • Collect soil samples and site data accurately
  • Record findings clearly and maintain organised documentation
  • Collate technical information for reports and internal review
  • Assist with site inspections and environmental observations
  • Identify issues on site and raise findings to the Director
  • Support recommendations based on site conditions and collected data
  • Liaise with site teams and ensure information is gathered efficiently
  • Maintain high standards of health, safety and professionalism on site
  • Manage your workload effectively across multiple locations

Requirements

  • Degree in Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Geology or similar
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to learn
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Able to work independently and use initiative
  • Comfortable travelling from site to site
  • Interest in earthworks, remediation and site-based technical work
  • Confident gathering data and producing accurate records
