The Role
We are recruiting an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to support construction projects in Berlin on a contract basis, working two days per week. This role is ideal for a proactive Health & Safety professional with strong knowledge of German H&S legislation and experience in complex construction or technical environments.
As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will act as the client’s representative on site, ensuring high standards of safety compliance, risk management, and contractor performance throughout the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Health & Safety Advisor and client H&S representative on site
- Monitor contractor compliance with Construction Safety Management Plans
- Carry out site inspections, audits, and safety walks
- Identify hazards, stop unsafe works, and implement corrective actions
- Review risk assessments and method statements (RAMS)
- Support incident investigations, reporting, and root cause analysis
- Ensure full compliance with German H&S legislation and project standards
- Maintain accurate H&S documentation and site records
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Health & Safety Advisor / H&S Consultant
- Background in construction, industrial, or technical projects
- Strong knowledge of German Health & Safety regulations
- Fluency in German and working proficiency in English
- Experience with audits, risk assessments, and contractor management
- Relevant H&S qualification (degree or equivalent)
