An established business based in Piddington, Oxfordshire is looking for an Experienced Bookkeeper to join its finance team on a permanent, office-based basis. This is a key bookkeeping and accounts role, working across multiple companies and supporting the Directors with day-to-day finance administration, VAT processing, reconciliations and financial control. The successful candidate will need strong Sage 50 experience and the confidence to manage bookkeeping duties accurately and independently.
This role would suit a Bookkeeper, Accounts Assistant, Finance Assistant or Accounts Administrator with solid Sage 50, VAT returns and multi-currency accounts experience.
ResponsibilitiesAs an Experienced Bookkeeper, you will be responsible for:
- Managing bank reconciliations across multiple companies
- Reconciling bank accounts, currency accounts and credit card transactions
- Managing the accounts email inbox and actioning finance queries promptly
- Posting and allocating payments and receipts
- Entering purchase invoices and reconciling supplier accounts
- Checking supplier statements and preparing monthly payment runs
- Managing supplier payments by bank transfer
- Sending customer statements and remittances
- Processing quarterly VAT returns
- Managing monthly PVA and C79 documentation
- Supporting import/export VAT and multi-currency accounts
- Assisting with purchase ledger, sales ledger and credit control duties
- Maintaining accurate financial records using Sage 50
The ideal candidate will have:
- Proven experience in bookkeeping, accounts or financial administration
- Strong working knowledge of Sage 50
- Experience processing VAT returns
- Experience with import/export VAT, PVA and C79 documentation
- Experience working with multi-currency accounts
- Purchase ledger, sales ledger or credit control experience
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- The ability to manage multiple finance tasks efficiently
- Confidence working independently
- A reliable, professional and team-focused approach
- A reasonable commute to Piddington, Oxfordshire, OX25 1AE
