We are recruiting a Controls Technical Lead / Senior Controls Engineer to join a global engineering organisation delivering highly standardised, large-scale automation and controls solutions across EMEA. This is a permanent, remote role working EMEA hours, offering long-term stability and the opportunity to operate as a technical authority within controls, SCADA, and automation systems. The Controls Technical Lead will support the development, governance, and continuous improvement of control system standards, working closely with internal engineering teams and external delivery partners.
Responsibilities
- Act as client representative for the review of controls network architecture, SCADA, and HMI submittals and drawings
- Ensure controls and automation standards are maintained, updated, and adhered to across the EMEA fleet
- Support the development, maintenance, and improvement of SCADA, HMI, and Data Concentrator systems
- Assist with new feature development, product updates, release packages, and release notes
- Provide technical project management support to the Controls team
- Support controls design across:
- HV Substations
- MV Electrical Yards
- MV Mechanical Yards
- LV Building systems
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in Power Management Systems (PMS)
- Minimum 5+ years' experience in controls and industrial network systems
- Strong experience with Inductive Automation Ignition 8.1+ with Perspective
- Experience with industrial communication protocols including IEC 61850 MMS, Modbus, and DNP3
- Experience with Siemens SICAM A8000, SEL RTAC, or Schneider EPO 2022 (desirable)
- Familiarity with version control systems such as Git
- Strong communication skills and experience working in distributed, remote engineering teams
