We are currently recruiting for a Traffic Marshal Supervisor for an ongoing contract in Bishop’s Stortford. This role is with a contractor operating across the groundworks and earthworks sector, delivering large-scale sites that require strong coordination, planning and supervision of Traffic Marshals.
This is a key site-based position where you will take ownership of the day-to-day logistics, organisation and management of Traffic Marshals to ensure site access, vehicle movements and pedestrian safety are controlled effectively.
The Role
As Traffic Marshal Supervisor, you will be responsible for planning labour requirements, coordinating site cover and maintaining smooth day-to-day operations across busy construction environments. You will work closely with site teams to ensure the right people are in place, standards are maintained and all traffic management activities are delivered safely and efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage Traffic Marshal rotas to meet site demands
- Book and allocate marshals across large active sites
- Coordinate daily site logistics and traffic movement requirements
- Liaise with Site Managers and other key personnel
- Carry out inductions and brief marshals on site expectations
- Monitor attendance, performance and site cover
- Complete compliance checks and maintain site records
- Review timesheets and support payroll administration where required
- Ensure health and safety procedures are followed at all times
- React quickly to changing site requirements and labour needs
Requirements
- SSSTS or SMSTS
- Valid CSCS card
- Valid Traffic Marshal ticket
- Minimum 5 years’ Traffic Marshal experience
- Previous experience supervising teams on construction, groundworks or earthworks sites
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- Confident managing labour, logistics and daily site coordination
- Good understanding of site safety and compliance standards
