Senior Civil / CSA Technical Project Manager
📍 Location: EMEA
💷 Salary: £80,000–£90,000
Contract: 12-month client-side secondment
💷 £80k–£90k to take ownership of the full Civil, Structural & Architectural workstream on a complex, mission-critical programme.
This is a senior client-side role with real authority: align multidisciplinary teams, drive decisions, control milestones and keep design, construction and change moving from day one.
About the role
You will act as an extension of the client team, representing its interests across the complete CSA package.
Technical Leads will own design direction and technical changes. You will own the stakeholder engagement, delivery coordination and governance needed to turn those decisions into controlled project outcomes.
This is not a narrow civil engineering appointment. You will coordinate civil, structural and architectural activity across design, construction, change management and operational support.
Key responsibilities
- Own the CSA delivery plan, including milestones, dependencies, reviews, risks, actions and approvals.
- Coordinate A/E consultants, the Engineer of Record, contractors, vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Drive multidisciplinary design coordination across civil, structural, architectural, MEP and building systems.
- Keep RFIs, submittals, design changes, bulletins and addenda prioritised, traceable and moving towards closure.
- Resolve coordination gaps and escalate issues affecting programme, quality or construction readiness.
- Provide concise, decision-ready reporting that reduces pressure on the client team.
- Support lessons learned, design standards and portfolio-wide improvements.
Requirements
- Senior technical project management, design management or programme delivery experience within CSA, infrastructure or complex construction.
- Broad understanding of civil, structural and architectural coordination, including underground services, utilities, earthworks, roads and site development.
- Strong knowledge of the design and construction lifecycle, including consultant deliverables, technical reviews, RFIs, submittals and change control.
- Experience representing a client, working owner-side or operating through a consultancy secondment.
- Confidence coordinating senior stakeholders, technical specialists, contractors and operational teams.
- Ability to take ownership of a full workstream immediately, without a lengthy ramp-up period.
Desirable background
- Data centre or hyperscale programme experience.
- Mission-critical facilities, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, advanced manufacturing, industrial or major infrastructure projects.
- A degree or equivalent experience in civil engineering, structural engineering, architecture, construction or project management.
- Chartered status or relevant professional accreditation.
The environment
You will join a multidisciplinary, client-facing programme where strong coordination matters as much as technical knowledge. The successful person will be expected to challenge constructively, create accountability and protect delivery milestones across multiple project interfaces.
