We are seeking to recruit an experienced and talented environmental consultant to work in our London design office. The right candidate will join an established team of environmental and social specialists based in London and will:
- Have strong, proven experience with the UK EIA legislation, with an interest in large international projects (international experience, particularly in developing countries is preferred).
- Preferably have strong knowledge in a specialist area (biodiversity specialism is preferred, but air quality, noise, water quality or advanced GIS will also be valued).
- Be an enthusiastic team player, with a desire and flexibility to work in highly regulated environments (UK) and more uncertain contexts.
- Have availability for international travel, typically for 1 week at a time, with the possibility for more extended travelling periods (1 to 3 weeks).
- Provide support on planning, ESIA/EIA, ESMS, SEA of very large infrastructure projects, and be responsible for the delivery of project tasks to satisfy client requirements.
- Support business development activities including technical proposal writing and project budget estimation.
Bachelor’s and/or Masters in a relevant environmental or ecological discipline is required.
Work Experience:
- At least 5-8 years of relevant work experience in ESIA / EIA.
- Strong report writing and presentation skills, with the ability to write clear and concise reports.
- Good knowledge of GIS (QGIS or ArcGIS).
- Experience working in Africa and the Middle East, and additional language skills (Portuguese, French) would be an advantage.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is essential.
