Bourne Valley Inn is an independent country inn, gastro pub, restaurant and wedding venue located in the beautiful Hampshire countryside. We are looking for an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen and play a key role in the continued development of our food offering. This is an exciting opportunity to join an ambitious independent business where you will have the freedom to develop menus, lead your own kitchen team and help drive the business forward.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all day-to-day kitchen operations.
- Create and develop seasonal modern British menus.
- Deliver high-quality food for restaurant service, weddings and private events.
- Recruit, train and motivate the kitchen team.
- Maintain exceptional food quality, consistency and presentation.
- Control food cost, GP, stock management and ordering.
- Ensure full compliance with HACCP and food safety legislation.
- Prepare for Environmental Health Officer (EHO) inspections.
- Work closely with management to continuously improve standards and guest satisfaction.
About You
- Previous experience as a Head Chef, or an experienced Sous Chef ready to progress.
- Experience within a quality gastro pub, restaurant or hotel.
- Strong knowledge of modern British cuisine.
- Experience catering for weddings, banqueting or private events.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Strong understanding of food cost control, GP and stock management.
- Passion for fresh food and maintaining high standards.
- Experience in Asian or fusion cuisine would be an advantage.
- The right to work in the UK.
