Minimum requirements:
- Managing a portfolio of clients with responsibilities including monthly bookkeeping, payroll processing, statutory compliance, SARS submissions (VAT, PAYE, Income Tax), and drafting financial statements and ad hoc advisory requests.
- Bookkeeping and bank reconciliation
- Processing monthly payroll and submitting EMP201
- Preparing and submitting VAT returns
- Handling SARS queries
- Preparation of monthly management accounts
- Drafting financial statements
- Submission of Income tax returns
- Submission of Individual tax returns
- Submission of EMP501s
- Submission of statutory compliance documents – Annual returns, Beneficial ownership, COID submissions
- Preparation of share certificates and share registers
Additional requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar (essential)
- Good understanding of e-filing, completing returns, and resolving disputes
- Accreditation with an accounting body – e.g., SAICA or SAIPA
