Your role: Credit Manager, Corporate & Business Credit (Based within Risk Management)

The role in detail: We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Credit Manager to join our Corporate & Business (C&B) Credit team within Risk Management. This is a fantastic opportunity to be a key influencer providing input across C&B Banking on the management of credit and lending issues, while ensuring continuous development of the business and playing an important role in supporting the Bank’s strategic objectives. Our C&B Credit team are responsible for 2nd line credit assessment / underwriting, and co-management of credit risk for customers in financial difficulties.
As a Credit Manager, you will exercise a delegated lending authority (DLA) in line with Group Credit Policy, commercial strategy, Risk Appetite, standard operating procedures and asset quality requirements. You will assess credit applications for business, financial and structural risks, data integrity and including consideration of ESG matters and Geopolitical, Security and Energy (GSE) risks, working within the framework of Consumer Duty obligations and in line with service level standards to support customer experience and satisfaction.
Other key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Identifying key portfolio issues, improvement opportunities and (co)implementing change management initiatives.
- Scoping of and delivering on training needs of both Credit and 1st line colleagues.
- Deputising for the Senior Manager C&B Credit Assessment and / or co-presenting cases with Head of C&B Credit UK in forums with Group Credit Copenhagen.
You’ll be a financial professional or an experienced Credit Manager within a Corporate Banking/Finance environment who is comfortable interacting and negotiating with Senior Corporate & Business Relationship Managers. You’ll have experience, either in a Banking or Finance environment, of dealing with customers and businesses based in NI and the rest of the UK, from a variety of sectors.
As a Credit Manager you are deemed to be a "material risk taker" under the UK Financial Conduct Authority’s Senior Managers Framework / Certification Regime, and as such, clear the required background checks.
