A leading global financial institution is seeking a highly experienced Senior Employment Counsel to join its London-based legal team. This is a senior-level opportunity offering the chance to lead on complex and high-profile employment matters across EMEA and beyond.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic legal advice on the full spectrum of employment law matters, including employee relations, investigations, senior exits, redundancies, disciplinary and grievance procedures, and employment litigation.
- Partner with HR, Compliance, Risk, and senior business stakeholders to manage employment-related risk and deliver commercially sound legal solutions.
- Support regulatory, compensation, and governance-related employment issues in a highly regulated environment.
- Advise on cross-border employment issues and global projects in collaboration with international colleagues.
- Monitor legal developments and ensure compliance with evolving employment legislation and financial services regulations.
Candidate Profile:
- A qualified solicitor with 10–15 years’ post-qualification experience (PQE) in employment law.
- Strong background in the financial services sector, ideally gained through in-house experience at a bank or financial institution, or from a leading law firm advising financial services clients.
- Proven ability to operate at a senior level, managing sensitive and complex employment matters with discretion and commercial judgment.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed organisation and able to demonstrate business acumen and stakeholder management skills.
- Pragmatic, solution-oriented, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.
