We are supporting a leading European private bank to recruit a Financial Services Regulatory Lawyer for its growing legal team. This is a new growth hire, reflecting the bank's continued investment in its UK business and the need for a dedicated in-house regulatory legal counsel.
This is a genuinely broad, hands-on position, working in a small, highly trusted legal and compliance team where your advice genuinely influences how the bank operates. You will be closely involved in supporting the bank’s private banking and wealth management activities, covering a wide range of products including deposits, unregulated credit, regulated mortgages, custody, investment dealing, advisory and discretionary mandates, structured products, derivatives and collective investment schemes.
The scope of the role includes regulatory advisory, private banking and wealth legal work, commercial contracts, and a range of ad-hoc legal queries. Candidates do not need experience across all of these products - exposure to some is absolutely fine, and the team is fully committed to supporting technical development, including for those without prior commercial contracting experience.
You would be joining at an important moment as the legal function develops further. The culture is relationship-driven, pragmatic and collaborative, and the legal and compliance team is highly regarded across the business.
This opportunity is ideally suited to a financial services regulatory lawyer with experience in private banking or wealth management, and a strong understanding of regulated products and the FCA Handbook. Prior in-house experience within a financial institution is advantageous.
