Danos Group is exclusively retained by a fast-growing, global emerging markets investment manager to find a Legal Counsel for its in-house legal team. This is a rare opportunity to move in-house with a firm managing multi-billion dollar assets across private credit and structured debt strategies, with an international footprint spanning the Middle East, Africa, Asia and the Americas.
Reporting to the General Counsel, you'll join a tight-knit, non-hierarchical legal team working directly alongside the Investments function on term sheets, transaction documents and financing structures for emerging markets private credit deals, including sovereign and institutional counterparties.
What you'll bring:
- 3-5 PQE, qualified in England & Wales (or equivalent), but foreign qualified lawyers will be considered if they have practised in the UK. Note this PQE range is an estimate and candidates with more or less should apply.
- Private credit, banking and finance experience from a leading US or UK law firm
- Confidence structuring and negotiating bespoke transaction documents (NDAs, term sheets, loan agreements, security and subordination documents)
- A genuine interest in emerging markets
Desirable:
- Restructuring, project finance, secondment or in-house exposure, an FCA-regulated environment, or sovereign/DFI experience
You'll thrive here if you're autonomous, entrepreneurial and energised by variety. No two transactions look alike, and you'll work closely with a fast-moving investment team in a genuinely collaborative, non-hierarchical culture.
