Danos has been mandated on an exclusive opportunity for a commercially minded legal counsel (5-10 PQE) to join a dynamic in-house team supporting a growing, internationally active asset management firm. This role offers exposure to a wide variety of legal matters, with a particular emphasis on commercial agreements and cross-border business activity. Reporting into the General Counsel and working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will provide practical, business-focused legal guidance on key initiatives and day-to-day operations. The position suits someone who enjoys operating in a fast-moving environment and can balance legal risk with commercial objectives. This role is primarily focused on commercial contracting and business initiatives, and also offers exposure to regulatory developments, ensuring the business remains well-positioned in a constantly evolving legal landscape.
Responsibilities:
- Advise on a broad spectrum of commercial and corporate legal matters, with a primary focus on the preparation, review and negotiation of a range of agreements (including supplier arrangements, service contracts, consultancy terms, and technology-related documentation such as software and data protection provisions).
- Collaborate with internal teams on projects spanning multiple regions, including supplier engagements, operational expansions, and other strategic initiatives.
- Provide support on corporate governance activities, including maintaining internal records and assisting with entity-related requirements.
- Track and assess relevant legal and regulatory changes, offering clear, actionable guidance to the business and supporting implementation where needed.
- Assist in refining internal legal processes, documentation and best practices to improve efficiency and consistency.
Your Profile:
- Qualified solicitor with 5-10 years PQE within financial services, preferably buy side.
- Demonstrated expertise in handling a mix of commercial agreements and corporate legal matters.
- Familiarity with tracking changes in legislation and regulation, with the ability to interpret developments and translate them into practical business guidance considered beneficial.
- Good awareness of trading or investment-focused operations, with a pragmatic approach to managing legal risk alongside commercial objectives.
