A commercial lawyer is required to support a global financial services group operating across EMEA and APAC on a 9 month FTC. The role focuses on advising brokerage operations—particularly those dealing with FX give‑up arrangements and cleared interest rate swaps—as well as a prime brokerage desk handling equity swaps and cash‑lending activities. Additional support across other business lines may be required.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of commercial and financial‑market agreements.
- Working with documentation such as ISDA agreements, prime brokerage contracts, securities lending and repo agreements, confidentiality agreements, guarantees, derivatives execution documentation, FX give‑up agreements, and related security documentation.
- Providing general commercial and regulatory‑aligned legal advice.
- Collaborating with internal teams and external counterparties to ensure documentation supports business objectives.
Skills & Experience
- Qualified lawyer (UK or Commonwealth) with 3+ years’ PQE.
- Strong background in derivatives and/or prime brokerage documentation.
- Financial services experience preferred, though relevant in‑house or private‑practice experience will be considered.
