Vice President / Legal Counsel – 12-14 Month Day-Rate Contract

Location: London (Hybrid)

Start Date: End of February / beginning of March 2026

Rate: c. £600–£800 per day

A leading global financial services business is seeking a commercially minded banking and finance lawyer to join on a 12–14 month day-rate contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work on high-value transactions in a dynamic in-house environment, focusing on banking and finance matters.

Candidate profile

Qualified in England & Wales, ideally 3–8 years PQE.
Strong background in banking & finance, including investment grade lending, leveraged finance, and syndicated loans.
Familiarity with LMA loan documentation is essential.
Candidates with experience in structured finance or restructuring with solid loan exposure will also be considered.
Experience at top-tier private practice firms or in-house banking experience is highly relevant.
This role is ideal for lawyers who enjoy the commercial aspects of deals but do not aspire to law firm partnership or business development responsibilities.

Role responsibilities

Advise on and negotiate complex loan agreements and related financing documentation.
Work closely with business teams on transaction execution, ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
Provide practical, commercial legal advice to support the business’s strategic objectives.
