The Opportunity

A leading international law firm is seeking a non-contentious insurance lawyer to join its growing London-based team. The successful candidate will be joining a highly regarded practice, recognised in the legal directories, and will work closely with colleagues across the wider financial services and regulatory groups.

This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified lawyer to develop their career in a dynamic environment with access to high-quality, complex work for a prestigious client base.

The Work

The team advises a broad spectrum of insurers, intermediaries, financial institutions and corporates on insurance-related matters. Work will include:

  • Strategic partnership and bancassurance arrangements
  • Drafting and negotiating distribution and outsourcing agreements
  • Advising on retail and commercial product development
  • FCA and PRA regulatory issues, including investigations and supervision projects
  • Cross-border regulatory perimeter issues
  • Reinsurance agreements (including captive programmes)
  • Insurance business transfers
  • Insurance sector M&A

The Candidate

  • Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 2 years’ PQE in insurance law (non-contentious focus preferred)
  • Strong technical ability combined with commercial awareness
  • Enthusiastic about client development and maintaining long-term relationships
  • Team player with excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Experience in both life/wealth and general insurance products would be advantageous
