We are hiring a senior, hands-on Head of Compliance to lead and develop the UK regulatory compliance function of a leading international payments fintech. The role reports directly to the Global Chief Compliance Officer and involves advising the business, overseeing regulatory change, and embedding a strong compliance culture across front-office and support functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the UK regulatory compliance programme and day-to-day compliance operations.
- Act as a senior adviser to the business on FCA regulation (including MiFID II, EMIR, PSD2, CASS).
- Own and enhance the compliance risk assessment, monitoring plan and framework.
- Manage regulatory change and horizon scanning.
- Oversee regulatory interactions, audits and enquiries.
- Review and maintain policies, procedures and governance documentation.
- Support conduct, culture and compliance training across the business.
- Produce clear and meaningful management information for senior management and committees.
- Manage and develop a small regulatory compliance team.
- Deputise for the Chief Compliance Officer when required.
Qualifications
- Significant experience in a second line of defence role with compliance advisory/generalist experience within FX, payments or trading environments.
- Payments regulatory knowledge essential and strong working knowledge of the FCA Handbook and European regulatory frameworks.
- An engaging and commercially minded compliance professional who enjoys being close to the business, building strong relationships and acting as a trusted advisor.
- Excellent leadership and people-management experience.
Salary is highly competitive + bonus and a hybrid working model is available. Employment type: Full-time. Location: London, United Kingdom.
