Role Purpose: A key member of the Grocery Channel, assisting to deliver profitable growth and excellent execution within Sainsbury’s. Partnering with key stakeholders internally and externally to support and lead the day to day operational management of Sainsbury’s across all 4 categories.
Analytics
- Monthly forecasting, adjusting accordingly based on data and feedback from customers.
- Ownership of Sainsbury’s invoicing matching and price claims process, ensuring this is done on time and in full each month.
- Ownership and delivery of EPOS performance and internal target tracking.
- Analysis of various data to share with the team and recommend action plans based on insight.
Retail Execution
- Promo start store visits to ensure excellent execution of our plans and competitor analysis.
- Creating and delivering field team briefings to share key focus by month.
- To contribute to the building and execution of our format plans by category.
Promotional and Price Management
- Completion of promotional calendars and pricing forms for all categories.
- Assisting with the analysis of promotional activities.
Customer Engagement
- Leading on some direct customer specific projects in-store campaigns, sustainability and/or category events etc.
- Supporting with customer brand planning thinking and execution.
- Supporting with any customer queries, for example, supply communications.
Project Management
- Managing customer activations, (example innovation launches).
- Managing the preparation for customer Joint Business Plans, Range Reviews as well as internal planning.
About You
- A self-starter that can take a step back to understand wider business implications before making decisions.
- Able to make sound decisions and solve problems.
- Can work well in a team environment as well as autonomously.
- Able to prioritise and can plan ahead to overcome obstacles.
- Able to build and manage core stakeholder relationships.
Functional capabilities
- Able to identify insight from data to help with JBP creation and negotiations.
- Able to demonstrate experience in identifying customer/shopper needs to create features and benefits for sales proposals.
- Able to identify ‘must gets’, ‘wish list’ and ‘concessions’ within negotiations.
Salary Bracket: £34k - 38k + bonus & benefits. This is a FTC position until the end of January 2027.
