The Materials Planner is responsible for ensuring the timely availability of raw material, premixes and packaging based on production plan and forecasts, calling off material direct from supplier and from an external 3PL warehouse. This role involves supplier co-ordination, inventory control, invoice management and collaboration with production, procurement, quality and logistics teams to support efficient operations and meet customer demand.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate with suppliers and external 3PL warehouses to ensure timely availability of raw materials, premixes and packaging according to the production plan and forecasts.
- Call off material directly from suppliers and 3PLs; manage inventory levels and flow.
- Collaborate with production, procurement, quality and logistics teams to support efficient operations and meet customer demand.
- Manage supplier coordination, inventory control and invoice processing.
Qualifications
- Professionally educated (ideally degree-level in Supply Chain, Procurement or Engineering).
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience in materials planning, production planning or supply chain roles.
- Systems essential knowledge: SAP, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Power BI.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; IT systems proficiency (SAP, Microsoft Office).
- Prioritisation and commitment to deliverables and deadlines.
- Communication and interpersonal skills; stakeholder management.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Ability to build meaningful relationships with team and stakeholders; manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Proactive with a continuous improvement focus; hands-on mentality.
