We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Lead to join our team in Kettering in the ongoing deployment of our factory operating system Dan-IWS! Dan-IWS is the factory operating system that is currently being deployed across Kettering site. The driving principles of Dan-IWS are ‘Power of 0’, and ‘Power of 100’ meaning zero defects & losses and 100% employee ownership.

As the role of the Maintenance Lead, you will be working alongside a Line Lead & Process Lead to make up a ‘Line Trio’. The role of the trio is to fully own all aspects of performance for one line/area of the site and to build, improve, and maintain the necessary standards to ensure this. You will report to the Line Lead and be responsible within the ‘trio’ for the following:

  • Breakdown Elimination (BDE): Lead efforts to identify, eliminate, and prevent recurring failures. Conduct Root Cause Analysis and implement corrective actions. Host weekly BDE meetings to address chronic line/area losses.
  • Maintenance Planning & Scheduling (MP&S): Manage MP&S to optimize preventive/predictive tasks, reducing downtime. Create asset care plans for critical equipment, minimizing costs and extending lifespan. Align maintenance activities with production schedules to enhance efficiency.
  • Technical Mastery & Capability Building: Manage Defect Handling from identification to resolution. Act as the technical expert to troubleshoot, resolve issues, and improve processes. Train, coach, and assess team members to build a multi-skilled workforce.
  • Health, Safety, and Food Safety Compliance: Ensure adherence to safety and hygiene standards, particularly for allergens. Prioritize safety for personnel and equipment.

About you: You must have the ability to work on your own initiative, have strong communication skills, ability to prioritise, think ahead and the ability to solve technical, complex problems. The following qualifications/skills are required:

  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills.

  • High standard of personal hygiene and structured mindset.
  • Skilled in prioritisation, forward-thinking, and problem-solving.
  • Analytical, organized, and technically proficient.

  • GCSE standard education or equivalent.
  • Proficient in written and verbal English communication.
  • Experience in food manufacturing, including allergen awareness and basic hygiene practices.
  • Familiarity with IT systems like MS Office.
