We are currently seeking an experienced Drainage Foreman to lead deep drainage works on a major highways project in the Howden area. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong background in deep drainage operations within a highways environment. The successful candidate will be confident managing site teams, coordinating plant and labour, and ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to programme.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead drainage gangs on deep drainage installations
  • Organise and allocate labour, plant, and materials effectively
  • Ensure all works are carried out in line with health, safety, and environmental standards
  • Read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications
  • Maintain progress on site and liaise with site management and engineers
  • Ensure quality control and compliance with project requirements

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Drainage Foreman on highways or civil engineering projects
  • Strong knowledge of deep drainage systems and installation methods
  • Ability to manage teams and put men and machines to work efficiently
  • SSSTS/SMSTS preferred
  • CPCS/NPORS and other relevant tickets advantageous
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
