An opportunity has arisen for an Environmental Advisor to support retail, commercial and M&E construction projects across Wakefield and the wider Yorkshire region. The successful candidate will work closely with site and project teams to ensure environmental compliance, promote best practice and support the delivery of projects in line with current legislation and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide environmental support across multiple live construction sites
- Ensure compliance with UK environmental legislation and company procedures
- Assist in the preparation and implementation of Environmental Management Plans
- Conduct site inspections, audits and compliance reviews
- Monitor waste management, pollution control and sustainability performance
- Support the investigation and reporting of environmental incidents
- Maintain environmental documentation and KPI reporting
- Assist with ISO 14001 compliance and continuous improvement initiatives
- Deliver environmental briefings and toolbox talks to site teams
Requirements
- Experience in an Environmental Advisor role within construction, M&E, fit-out or facilities/maintenance environments
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and compliance requirements
- Experience working across multiple sites/projects
- Familiarity with ISO 14001 management systems
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable
- Degree or qualification in Environmental Management or similar
- IEMA membership (Associate or above)
- Experience within retail or commercial construction projects
