An established infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of major power network projects. This is a long‑term opportunity offering either permanent employment or a rolling contract arrangement, depending on candidate preference and experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Carrying out site engineering and setting out duties
- Supporting delivery of overhead line and substation works
- Coordinating with site teams, subcontractors, and planners
- Ensuring works are delivered in line with design, specifications, and programme
- Managing as‑built records, quality checks, and technical documentation
- Assisting with temporary works and method statements where required
- Ensuring compliance with highways, utilities, and power network standards
- Promoting and maintaining high standards of health & safety on site
Required Experience
- Proven experience as a Site Engineer within power networks or utilities
- Strong background in overhead lines and substations
- Experience working on highways or utility‑based infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of live network environments (advantageous)
- Confident using setting out and surveying equipment
- Able to work independently and as part of a delivery team
Qualifications
- Relevant engineering qualification (HNC / HND / Degree or equivalent)
- CSCS Card
- Full UK Driving Licence
Salary / Rate
Up to £60,000 (permanent), depending on experience. Competitive day rate available for contract candidates.
