An established infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support the delivery of major power network projects. This is a long‑term opportunity offering either permanent employment or a rolling contract arrangement, depending on candidate preference and experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carrying out site engineering and setting out duties
  • Supporting delivery of overhead line and substation works
  • Coordinating with site teams, subcontractors, and planners
  • Ensuring works are delivered in line with design, specifications, and programme
  • Managing as‑built records, quality checks, and technical documentation
  • Assisting with temporary works and method statements where required
  • Ensuring compliance with highways, utilities, and power network standards
  • Promoting and maintaining high standards of health & safety on site

Required Experience

  • Proven experience as a Site Engineer within power networks or utilities
  • Strong background in overhead lines and substations
  • Experience working on highways or utility‑based infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of live network environments (advantageous)
  • Confident using setting out and surveying equipment
  • Able to work independently and as part of a delivery team

Qualifications

  • Relevant engineering qualification (HNC / HND / Degree or equivalent)
  • CSCS Card
  • Full UK Driving Licence

Salary / Rate

Up to £60,000 (permanent), depending on experience. Competitive day rate available for contract candidates.
