Danny Sullivan Group is recruiting an experienced Earthworks Supervisor to support major bulk earthworks operations on the Lincolnshire Reservoir project in the Sleaford area. This is an excellent opportunity to take a leading role in the delivery of large-scale earthworks activities, including cut and fill operations, material movements, haul road construction, ground preparation, and earthmoving works on one of the UK's most significant future water infrastructure projects.
The Lincolnshire Reservoir is a proposed £2.6 billion water infrastructure scheme being developed by Anglian Water. Located south‑east of Sleaford near Mareham Lane in Scredington, the reservoir is expected to cover approximately five square kilometres and will play a vital role in strengthening long‑term water resilience across the East of England. The project is currently progressing through the pre‑application phase as part of the Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP) planning process.
Your Role as an Earthworks Supervisor
- Supervise and coordinate daily bulk earthworks activities across site
- Oversee earthmoving plant, operators, groundworkers, and labour teams, ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently, and to programme
- Manage cut and fill operations, material placement, compaction, and ground preparation works in accordance with project specifications
- Ensure compliance with RAMS, ITPs, environmental controls, and all site quality requirements
- Monitor levels, tolerances, and earthworks progress against design and engineering standards
- Coordinate GPS machine‑controlled plant operations and work closely with engineers and survey teams
- Liaise with site management, engineers, subcontractors, and operatives to maintain productivity and workflow
- Deliver daily briefings, inductions, and toolbox talks
- Maintain accurate records including inspections, permits, progress reports, and quality documentation
- Identify and escalate hazards, delays, and non‑conformances
- Drive a positive health, safety, environmental, and sustainability culture in line with project requirements
What We're Looking For as an Earthworks Supervisor
- Valid Gold CSCS Card (Supervisory Level)
- SSSTS or SMSTS (essential)
- CPCS/NPORS plant tickets (desirable)
- EUSR CAT & Genny (desirable)
- Safety Critical Medical (or willingness to undertake)
- Proven experience supervising bulk earthworks on major infrastructure, water, energy, highways, rail, or civil engineering projects
- Strong understanding of cut and fill operations, material management, ground improvement, and compaction requirements
- Experience working with Tier 1 contractors or on large‑scale infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of GPS machine control systems and surveying coordination
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, and earthworks documentation
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Right to work in the UK
