An experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor is required to support a major UK civil engineering contractor delivering critical infrastructure works at a live reservoir project in the North West. This is a high-profile scheme involving complex earthworks, dam safety improvements and long-term asset protection, delivered by one of the UK's leading Tier 1 infrastructure contractors with a strong track record across water, highways and energy frameworks.
The Role
You will take commercial responsibility for a key workstream on site, working closely with project and delivery teams to ensure robust cost control and contractual compliance. Key responsibilities include:
- Commercial management of NEC3 contracts
- Procurement and management of subcontractors
- Change control, compensation events and forecasting
- Cost reporting, valuations and final accounts
- Supporting risk management and value engineering
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor on similar civil engineering or water infrastructure projects
- Strong NEC3 contract experience is essential
- Background in earthworks, dams, reservoirs or heavy civils preferred
- Demonstrably stable employment/contract history
- Confident communicator able to work on a live, safety-critical site
Working Arrangements
- 2-3 days per week on site at the reservoir
- Remainder of the week hybrid/remote
- Collaborative, well-established commercial team
Rate £500-£600 per day (PAYE), depending on experience. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a nationally significant infrastructure project with a respected delivery partner.
