An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and customer-focused Sales Executive to join a leading supplier of safety, traffic management, PPE and specialist equipment solutions based in Walsall. This role is ideal for an experienced sales professional who enjoys building long-term customer relationships, managing key accounts and driving revenue growth. You will play a pivotal role in developing existing accounts, converting opportunities into sales and ensuring customers receive exceptional service from enquiry through to delivery.
The Role
As a Sales Executive, you will manage and grow a portfolio of customer accounts while identifying opportunities to maximise revenue and strengthen customer relationships. Working closely with procurement, logistics and operational teams, you will ensure customer requirements are met while contributing to the company's continued commercial success.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and develop a portfolio of key customer accounts, identifying opportunities to increase revenue through cross-selling, upselling and new business development.
- Build strong customer relationships, understand client requirements and provide suitable product and service solutions that support long-term retention and growth.
- Prepare accurate quotations, proactively follow up opportunities and work with management on larger or high-value projects to maximise conversion rates.
- Process customer enquiries and orders efficiently, ensuring all information is recorded accurately and maintained within CRM systems.
- Coordinate with procurement, stores and logistics teams to ensure successful order fulfilment and timely delivery.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by resolving queries, providing order updates and maintaining clear communication throughout the customer journey.
- Monitor sales performance, maintain accurate records and contribute to continuous improvement by analysing outcomes and identifying opportunities for growth.
What We're Looking For
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets within a customer-focused sales environment.
- Strong account management and business development experience with the ability to build and maintain long-term customer relationships.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, influencing and objection-handling skills.
- Experience managing multiple customer accounts while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Confident use of CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, collaborative and team-oriented environment.
Desirable
- Experience within construction, safety, traffic management, PPE, lifting equipment or related sectors would be advantageous.
- Knowledge of SOP systems such as Insphire is also desirable.
